In-frame style Media Wall

Following the purchase of her new-build home, the client sought to bring a sense of continuity and personality into the space by incorporating elements from her previous property. Having been particularly impressed with the quality and design of her newly installed kitchen, she turned to Helix Interiors Ltd to create an In-frame style media wall that would anchor her open-plan lounge while complementing her existing furniture.

A key part of the design process involved taking subtle cues from the client’s furnishings to ensure the new installation felt cohesive rather than imposed. Tones, textures, and finishes were carefully considered, resulting in a muted colour palette that harmonises effortlessly with the pieces she had brought with her. This approach allowed the media wall to feel like a natural extension of the room, rather than a standalone feature.

The made-to-measure design maximises both functionality and visual appeal. Generous integrated storage helps maintain a clean, uncluttered environment, while open shelving introduces opportunities for styling with books, decorative objects, and personal items. The balance between closed and open elements was carefully planned to provide practicality without compromising on aesthetics.

Attention to detail is evident throughout. The selection of handles, for example, was guided by those already present in the room, ensuring consistency across different areas of the home. This thoughtful alignment of design elements contributes to a seamless overall look.

Lighting plays a central role in enhancing the atmosphere of the space. Remote-controlled, dimmable, 3 zone LED lighting has been incorporated to allow the client to adjust brightness levels and tone to mood and time of day. Whether creating a soft, ambient glow for relaxed evenings or a brighter setting for entertaining, the lighting adds both flexibility and warmth to the room.

Equally important was the integration of discreet power solutions. Flush-fitting backflip sockets and integrated USB ports have been subtly incorporated into the design, ensuring that practical needs are met without disrupting the clean lines of the installation. These hidden features provide convenient access to power for devices and accessories, while maintaining the streamlined appearance of the media wall.

Ultimately, this bespoke installation reflects a careful balance of form and function. By drawing inspiration from the client’s existing furniture and combining it with tailored craftsmanship, smart storage solutions, and considered lighting, the finished media wall enhances the overall living space. It stands as a refined, practical focal point that supports modern living while maintaining a calm and cohesive aesthetic.
